| Electronics & Safety |
Safety protection plus. When the sensor triggers the alarm, the
electronics instantly isolate the sensor from the alarm unit so that no
current flows in the sensor as the alarm keeps beeping. This protects the
user from current in the sensor which can electrolyze the urine, making it into an
acid, which may in turn irritate the skin. |
No safety protection. Current flows constantly across the metal
sensor domes while the alarm is sounding.
The current causes electrolysis of the urine, causing it to become more acidic. This may irritate skin. |

| Sensor Construction |
Flexible molded plastic with no sharp edges and no metal parts. Very thin for maximum comfort but wide enough to collect urine and to trigger at the first drop of urine. Surface is easy to wipe clean and dry. Unisex design. Sensor is 1"W x 3"L with a 30" cord. |
Exposed metal dome and clip. Dome and clip very small and the collecting area is therefore very small and urine can miss the detector. Washing is easy. Unisex design. (Boys may miss target with clip styles.) Sensor is 2"Lx.5"Wx .5" thick. Cord is 48" Long. |
Layers of foam plastic stuck together. Very wide and long and children may find this uncomfortable. Urine collects in sensor holes and making it difficult to dry well. Separate male and female sensors needed. |
Hard plastic with pointed edges and exposed metal electrodes. Requires pads to be sewn to the underwear to which the sensor is attached by Velcro. Velcro on the sensor stays wet after being triggered by urine. Unisex design. |
Plastic clip attaches to underwear. Clip is small and urine may miss the target. Thin wire cord and connection to clip. Clips may not be comfortable against the body during sleep. Unisex design. (Boys may miss target with clip styles.) |
Flexible weaved ribbon. Weaved texture may inhibit ability to quickly dry the sensor for immediate re-use. Must be pinned into place. Unisex design.
